I have reviewed one wine from Andreola: the 2023 Andreola “Mas De Fer” Rive di Soligo Valdobiadene Prosecco Superiore (96 points).
Andreola is a benchmark for heroic viticulture in Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore. The family winery was founded in 1984 by Nazzareno Pola and is now led by his son Stefano, who combines tradition with modern winemaking. Based in Col San Martino, it works the steep slopes of the appellation, where machines cannot go and every vine is tended and harvested by hand.
Andreola champions the zone’s micro-terroirs with single-vineyard Rive selections, which highlight the floral and mineral nuances of Glera grown at altitude, where cool mountain air keeps the grapes fresh and aromatic. The wines are elegant, dry and precise, raising Prosecco from simple aperitif to a wine of place.
“Mas de Fer”, from the Rive di Soligo, shows that ambition: green apple, pear and white peach with floral and citrus notes, fine, persistent bubbles and a creamy texture balanced by bright acidity and a clean mineral finish. It is a Prosecco for the aperitif hour or for seafood, light salads and creamy cheeses.
