Ocone Bozzovich Nero Beneventano
This is one of the most charming and distinct red blends you will find from Campania, and a brilliant introduction

Ocone Bozzovich
I have reviewed one wine from Ocone Bozzovich: the Ocone Bozzovich Nero Beneventano (92 points).
Ocone is a historic name in the Sannio district of Campania, in business since 1910. On the slopes of Mount Taburno, the estate was a pioneer of organic viticulture and of recovering old clones of Aglianico and Piedirosso. Its Aglianico del Taburno differs from Taurasi: often fresher and more floral, with softer tannins. The Bozzovich line pays homage to a business partner from the 1940s.
The “Bozzovich Nero” is a charming introduction to the estate and one of Campania’s most distinctive red blends. Aglianico brings structure and depth, while Piedirosso, the grape behind the soft, aromatic reds of Vesuvius, adds perfume, softness and drinkability. The result is a versatile red with Aglianico’s character but approachable enough for tonight’s dinner, typical of Ocone’s clean fruit and sustainable approach to the underappreciated terroir of inland Campania.
